22nd April 2017 was “Earths Day” and it will come every year. With our (Humans) increasing needs, demands and expectation with resulting strain on our resources and worse part of it “Global warming” and rising pollution are we in position to leave our celebration on only one day in a year? Read somewhere in one of Aquarium that ours is “Planet Ocean” which suits given the ratio of Water and Land on our planet.
Let’s call it "Planet Ocean Earth" and everyone celebrate it every day.
There is lot big and small we can do!
There is a saying in Hindi “Bund bund se sagar bharta hai” meaning every drop contributes to the formation of ocean. Scientists, Organisations and Society's are working hard to help us. It's high time we look forward to help them and help our planet. As they suggest and we can think of we all can do our share by doing all these:
Stop cutting trees, remember it takes 15 to 20 years for a tree to grow. Loss of each tree in immense loss many lives and loss to our ecology.
Plant a sapling which grows in to a tree. Have plants and trees around you. It’s healthier to live in green atmosphere.
Minimize use of paper.
Needs all the above (You could assume No Trees No WATER).
Use water judiciously. Do not waste water.
Adopt Rainwater storage and Harvesting.
Reduce CO2 Emission
Walk and Cycle whenever possible.
Think twice before using Motor vehicle, do you need or alternative is better.
Share cars, use public transport.
Prefer Hybrid or Electric vehicle (instead of Brand names)
Use Electricity/Energy like a miser.
Use Solar where ever possible.
Use Energy Saving Equipment’s.
Do not burn garbage, tyres and other wastes.
Reuse, Recycle and Avoid Toxins
1. Be sensible with your waste, its a huge hazard for us and environment. 2. Avoid plastic. 3. Follow guidelines for Toxic Wastes.
Remember everything goes in Land/River and Ocean significantly damaging our ecosystem threatening existence of life.
Educate Children, Include "Saving Planet" in Curriculum at all levels.
