Fire Crackers primarily contains Black Gun Powder. Black gun powder is made up of 1. Sulphur 2. Charcoal Powder 3. Potassium Nitrate and 4. Potassium Chlorate. When a firecracker is ignited, charcoal powder, sulphur powder, and other ingredients will react with the oxidant in the air and combine to form carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitric oxide, and nitrogen dioxide Apart from toxic gases, there will be dust in the air and sound. We all know apart from all above it can become nuisance on the street and a sanitation issue.
Gases produced on the burning of Fire crackers: Carbon monoxide is harmful when breathed because it displaces oxygen in the blood and deprives the heart, brain, and other vital organs of oxygen. Large amounts of CO can overcome you in minutes without warning—causing you to lose consciousness and suffocate Nitrogen Di Oxide: The main effect of breathing in raised levels of nitrogen dioxide is the increased likelihood of respiratory problems. Nitrogen dioxide inflames the lining of the lungs, and it can reduce immunity to lung infections. This can cause problems such as wheezing, coughing, colds, flu and bronch Sulphur Di Oxide: The air pollution by SO2 has the following effects on human beings: Corneal haze, Breathing difficulty, Airways inflammation, Eye irritation, Psychic alterations, Pulmonary oedema, Heart failure, Circulatory collapse. Sulphur dioxide is also associated with asthma, chronic bronchitis, morbidity and mortality increase in old people and infants. Sound Pollution: Noise affects both our health and behaviour. Unwanted sound can damage psychological health. Sound pollution can cause high blood pressure, increased stress levels, weird sounds in ears, hearing loss and sleep disturbance. It affects recovery of sick patients. New born babies are the most affected by this.
